How did you light this one?
How did you light this one?
Lucky guy..btw the white spots I see on the subject - is it the light or the flash? You think you could have avoided it?? Still it gives an interesting looks for the subject (hope its not a natural spot :) )
Thanks for all your comments, guys.
Nish - If these brinjals were a gift to Kanchana, I owe this picture to you! I used a Philips CFL (with the tablelamp that I was talking about) on a white chart sheet and then used PS to set the levels. As you know so well, all this is your gospel to get Surf white photos :-). So this one is for you!
Sudarshan - Yeah, those spots are from the light. I guess I could have avoided it but I saw them prety late in the day and by that time, the brinajals were disposed off from the house :-) BTW, those spots give the brinjals some kind of an alien look!

Hey :)
Sorry, for this kind of question, but what brinjal is? I see that it's a vegetable :) But what it's like? How about taste?
I've never seen anything like this before :)
Cheers

Hi Shyha, You are right in that it is a vegetable and it is also known as egg plant. These two are definitely abberations and so you cannot guess their original shapes from this photo. I will try to post one soon. Regd the taste, well there is no distinct taste but they make for great Indian curries :-)
See them from another angle,!! they look like the faces of aliens, may be from Mars. Aren't they? I would love to see a pic with such a face, and may be some 'body' too ;-))

Thanks Suyog ;) will be waiting to see more of your indoor shots now :) Its real fun to play with light and sometimes equally frustrating.. but worth it
Very nice shot. I think this pic is perfect as it is. The white spots give it an extra oomph touch to it.
In Trinidad we call them baigan or melongene, and the most popular to prepare them is to roast them in the skin and then scoop out the insides, which become somewhat mushy and squishy. Baigan choka, it's called. Can't stand the taste of it myself. Never seen any shaped like this either.
