Painted Stork (Mycteria leucocephala)
For the next couple of weeks, I will be posting images from my Mysore trip. I made the rounds of the usual tourist spots (and no, I was not visiting Mysore for the first time - this has to be at least my 10th trip over there!) and came back with a tan :-) Missed Bangalore in that regard!
I will start with the zoo. There was this pretty well planned section in the zoo where you walk among birds and duck your head really low when they fly over you. Caught some nice looking birds there and this pic is one among them.

unsual angle here :) as satz said, have you visited Ranganthittu? there is a totally different kick to click birds in the wild!
Thanks for all your comments. I did visit Ranganthittu during my Srirangapatna visit last year. The birds there are lovely and I did get to capture some of them. Will be posting those pics soon:-)
