Buddha

I know many of you would have seen this in pictures before but believe me the photos do not do any justice. You have to be here in person.

As a background, this is the Namdroling Monastery at the Tibetian settlement in Bylakuppe. The above statues are of Buddha and his disciples Guru Padmasamhava and Buddha Amityayus , all around 60ft tall. Inside the statues are the holy scriptures, relics, small clay moulded stupas and small statues symbolic of the body speech and mind of the Buddhas.

To create an ethreal look, I have applied some diffusion filtering in PS.

So nice, buddhas are beautiful.....

Never been here, but i can imagine how it would feel to be there and actually see this, but i am sure my thought is a thousand times smaller than the real thing.
Awesome shot here, one of the first ones where the composition is from the front. nice exposure to get the gold, thats really tough to get.

Until I read your description, I had no idea these were so huge! I'm still having a difficult time imagining the scale! It really is wonderful the way you've caught the gold...beautiful!

great photo's...keep up the good work!
